Ronald lee luiz: Unsolved homicide
Ronald Lee Luiz, age 37, was found around 6:30 AM on Thursday, June 7, 2001 lying face-down on the asphalt in front of a small, abandoned bungalow near 1135 South El Dorado Street, just north of Jackson Street in Stockton, CA. The property where Luiz was found once served as an office for several businesses that had been located in the parking lot, which at the time served Ray & Phil's Handy Spot, a bar on the corner of South El Dorado and Jackson Streets (now Loza’s Hair Studio). No one was supposed to be inside the bungalow, but police said it was obvious that unknown people had been using it.
Luiz’s body was found by a transient, who alerted a nearby resident before calling 911 from a pay phone. The official cause of death was blunt-force trauma to the head, according to the San Joaquin County Coroner's Office. The time of death was estimated to be between 1-3 AM.
